KinderStampo's Holiday Cheer Blog Hop!

Hi Friends!

Welcome to the KinderStampO Guest Design Team "Holiday Cheer" Blog Hop...

As you can tell from that sweet new picture I have, I get to be a Guest Designer for the one and only KinderStampO!

I am so excited to share my creativity with you...
We have a lot of fun projects, challenges, features and surprises in store
for you and I can't wait for you to be part of it !

My name is Amanda, and I have been crafting for over 16 years and am constantly on the lookout for new techniques and tricks. I am a card maker, through and through, but I do love Hybrid Crafting as well as altered art. I love to make cards and send them to friends and family, even just to say hi. There's just something special about receiving a handmade note with some kind words in it. Crafting is my true love. I always have the "I can make that" thought in my head when I am shopping or running errands. Lately though, it seems like I can't make time to make "that"!

I would like to send a sincere thank you to Jessica for this opportunity. I have loved her products since she started her business, and they are so beautiful, just like her. She is one of the sweetest, most genuine, and outrageously talented women I know. I feel so fortunate to be a Guest Designer for her. THANK YOU, JESS!!

My project for this awesome hop is a treat box... Our theme was "Holiday Cheer" and the colors black, white, red and gold. I love, love, love the "Vintage Halloween" set and used the sentiment "Sweet Treats for You". Right when I received news of the hop, I knew what stamp I'd be using! Then, I ordered her "Vintage and Traditional Holiday" set and had to include some of those, too!

This is a close up of the four panels of the box. I cut it from the Cricut "Artiste" Cartridge from "Close to my Heart".
This project was so much fun, and thanks to the KinderStampo products, it definitely put me in the mood to spread some holiday cheer!
As a holiday treat for you, Jess is hosting an awesome giveaway! How does a stocking full of KinderStampO products sound?

I Have a Seven Year Old!

    Hi Friends!

Today, I have some pictures of the cute things I made for my daughter's 7th birthday.  It fell on Thanksgiving this year, and she was over the moon excited about that.  I decided she needed a little something that wasn't "turkey" related, or even fall colors for that matter.  She is crazy about those Monster High Dolls, so I decided that pink, blue and black would be my color pallet.  I was so excited.  Had it all planned out.  Balloons, confetti, decor...

Then my cute husband tells me he is going to make her a turkey cake, and it'd be fun to have a card/poster to sit next to it that says something about a turkey.  He tells me the night before her birthday.  YIKES!  So, keeping true to my colors, I made a giant card for her.  I actually really loved how it turned out, and it didn't kink my non-holiday plan too much!

I wanted her to have something special to wear throughout the day full of visitors and dinners.  I got a 3" wood circle, painted it, and had my first Mod Podge experience, gluing confetti on to it, and adding some flair and that cute 7!  She was SO excited about that badge, and has kept it almost as nice as when I gave it to her!  Crepe paper doesn't last forever, but it is too cute not to use!

    Halloween Crafts... a little late!

Hello Crafty Friends!  I hope you are all well. Halloween has come and gone, and although I was able to get everything done and delivered on the actual day, my poor blog has been neglected.  I am so sorry.  Life is crazy right now, and I don't see it slowing down any time soon.  UGH!

My daughter is in first grade this year and she asked me to "help" with the Halloween Party.  I LOVE Halloween.  As it ended up, I was in charge of the whole party!  We had one craft, 2 games and a snack.  It was super fun!  The games ended up being bingo and "pin the face on the pumpkin".  I had my sweet husband draw three huge pumpkins on poster board and then I cut random face pieces from self adhesive foam.  Hilarious to watch those kids!  Sadly, I didn't get a picture.  My husband is quite the artist!  Bingo was just a store bought game with pumpkin markers.  Super cute!

The craft, was by far, my favorite that I've done for kids in a long time.  I called it a "Boo-Quet" and it was SO fun!  I had the Cricut Markers draw 3 ghosts and the word "BOO" and then I had the kids color and cut them out.  I had filled a mini cauldron with crinkled paper and stuffed a craft stick in some Styrofoam to mount the ghosts on.  Let's just say, Glue Dots are AMAZING!!

For my kids' classes, I did some treats they could pass out.  My baby wanted something not scary, so I used the cutest Halloween set ever and made some crepe paper rosettes and stuck it on.  She loved them.  I did too!

My first grader wanted to use my KinderStampO's Vintage Halloween Set "Too Cute to Spook" and some pumpkins.  I can't just leave a pumpkin faceless.  So, out came my Peachy Keen Stamps and walla!  I had the perfect little faces.  She loved them and made up a story about each face.  It was so cute to watch her tell her friends.  I have to admit, I love this stamp set.  It's too cute!

Thank you so much for visiting today.  Hope your November is full of all things wonderful!

    My First Candy Bar Poster

    Hi Crafty Friends!

I hope everyone is having a great week.  Today, I wanted to show you the gift my cute husband and I gave his sister last week.  Her birthday was on Tuesday, and it's kind of a big deal!  I have always wanted to try one of those candy bar cards that I see all over. WOW!  So much work.  But, thankfully, I have a Cricut and it did most of the work for me.  YAY!  :)

    From My Kitchen Card!

Hello!  I wanted to show you a card I made for my darling SIL who just bought a home.  I have been SO excited for her, and the best news about it is, she's in my neighborhood!  All of the neighbors got together last night to surprise her with a "stock the kitchen" party!  She was totally surprised and got so many wonderful gifts.  It was a raging success!  We are all just so happy for her, and it's fun to spoil the girl who has done so much for everyone!

I have loved "From My Kitchen" since I got it long ago, but I have never made a single thing with it!  I was determined.  And, this is what I came up with:

My SIL is crazy about blue and purple, so I picked papers I just had laying around and they were perfect!  I was really happy with this, and I can definitely see more uses for this awesome cartridge!

Thank you for visiting today.  Have a wonderful day!!

    Father's Day Cards

    Hi Friends!

Today I have two Father's Day cards I made that I just love.  The first one is the card my daughter's gave their cute Grandpa.  He always tells them he loves them a "Bushel and a Peck" and when I saw this die cut from SEI, I knew exactly what I was going to do with it!

The second one is the card I gave my Daddy and my Father-in-Law.  I cut the word "DAD" with vinyl and stuck it on the front like a sticker.  I then took my black acrylic paint and a little water and painted right over it.  I let it dry for a few minutes and peeled up the vinyl and was left with the cute word all painted!  I truly loved this card and cannot wait to do more painting on tags and cards!

    Teacher Appreciation!

Hi Friends! I apologize for the delay in posting. Today I have a gift card holder my daughter gave her Kindergarten teacher for Teacher Appreciation. I've been so into hybrid crafts, so it only seemed appropriate to make a sentiment in Word, and decorate the rest. My daughter loved it, and so did I! Thanks for visiting today... Stay tuned for some Father's Day cards!

    Easter Projects!

    Hi Friends!

Hope you are all doing well.  I just finished up the treats for my daughter to take to school tomorrow.  I've been in somewhat of a creative slump these past few weeks, so I was super happy when the idea I had in my head actually came together almost exactly how I saw it originally!  I want to personally thank Jess KinderStampO (on Facebook!)  for her awesome, awesome video she did on the Peat Pots...http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=uCvcm3ZEVGw&feature=youtube_gdata_player  She was my inspiration and I can't wait to make more of them!  Thank you Jess!!

These were the treats my daughter wanted for her class party tomorrow!

This is the basket she is giving her teacher tomorrow!  I love doing these.

Out of This World Birthday Card!

    Hi Friends!

Today I have a birthday card that my daughter and I designed for her friend's birthday party.  The party was a space theme and she helped make the moon and the alien.  It was fun to have her use my Gypsy to make sure things looked right!  I designed the sentiment in Photoshop... my new love!

    Birthday Tag

    Welcome!

Today I have a birthday tag I made for my sweet cousin's daughter's birthday.  This is a Hybrid project, and I'm loving hybrid crafts!  Photoshop is amazing, but I can still use scissors and glue.  What could be better!  I designed the tag, sentiment and heart in Photoshop, printed them, with an extra heart and whallah!  Ready to go and super cute to boot!

Thank you so much for visiting.

    Note Card

    Hi Friends!

I needed a quick note card to send with my daughter to ask her dance teacher for a song... I thought it would be fun to do something cuter than a post-it.  It worked!  :)

Thanks so much for visiting today!

    Gift Tag

Hello!  Today I have a gift tag that I made for a friend who is getting married.  She invited me to a lingerie shower on Saturday, and I had to play along with the subject.  As soon as I got the invite, I knew what words I'd be using on her gift tag.  This was really fun to make and everyone loved it.  Thanks so much for visiting!!

    Bridal Shower Decorations & Favors

    Hi Friends!

I wanted to share with you some pictures of my friend's bridal shower that I helped with.  Her sisters were hosting it and asked me to help with the decor and favors.  Of course I was excited!  Her colors for the wedding are dark purple, leaf green and tan.  What a fun combo!  We decided to do two banners with those colors and the bride and grooms initials.  I had to call on my SIL to help with figuring out a few things as this was only my 2nd banner ever!  Thanks, Miss for helping!  It was a huge hit!  The favors were post-it note holders with a cute little purple flower.  I just love to make these and they make the perfect favor!  Thank you so much for visiting today!

    Hello Friends!

Today I have a baby card I made for a cousin of ours who is having a baby girl any day now!  I just love my border punch my sweet cousin gave me for Christmas... it is from Stampin' Up! and it is so easy to use!  The "baby" sentiment is from Pink by Design's set "Big Thoughts" and the "girl" sentiment is from My Mind's Eye "Fine and Dandy Tickled Pink" Collection SO CUTE!

Valentine Thank You Post-it Note Holder

    Hi Friends!

Today I have some Valentine's Day inspired post-it note holders.  I had 2 amazing Mom's helping me with the Kindergarten Valentine's party and I couldn't just say "thank you", I had to show them how much I appreciated their help.  The tag on the packaging is my very first "hybrid" project.  I did the elements in Photoshop and then did faux stitching around the edge!  Not very daring, I know, but I'm warming up to the idea!

The stamp set I used for the "thanks" is from the Pink by Design Store using the set "Big Thoughts".

    Husband's Valentine

    Hello Friends!

Today I wanted to share with you the Valentine I made for my Husband this year.  I cut a heart by hand and mounted it on chipboard.  I then stamped with glue the background design and then flocked it!  It was my first attempt at flocking... although I love the look, it is certainly messy!  The bow is some mesh I stole from my 2 year old's pirate princess dress up.  It was falling off, so I just helped it come apart.... :)  His gift was concert tickets to the Black Keys but I didn't have the actual tickets before Valentine's Day, so I stamped some keys and put the date, in hopes he'd get the pun.  He sure did!  Hope you all had a wonderful day of love!  Thanks for visiting today!

    Hi Friends!

Here is a pencil cup I made for my 6 year old.  I just love the Pink by Design "All Girl" set.  I stamped different sentiments and attached them all over the cup.  It was so fun and she was super excited that it matched her room!

    Note Card Box

    Hi Friends!

I apologize for the delay in posting...  Have had a hard time this past month.  Anyway.  I wanted to share a note card box I made to apply for the Pink By Design Design Team in January.  Although I didn't make the team, I'm still thoroughly in love with their stamps.  They are soooo cute!

This box used to be a jewelry box from Dillard's.  I covered it with some paper from SEI called "Chick-a-Doo".  I got it at a scrapbook expo in 2009.  The flowers were a brass embossing template and the sentiments were from the Pink by Design set called "Big Thoughts".  This is probably my favorite set!

Thank you so much for visiting today!  I appreciate it!
