Welcome to KinderStampO's Theme-spired Saturday!

Hello!

Welcome to another "Theme-spired Saturday" with Jess - KinderStampO !  The picture for today is a super cute one.

I love vintage inspired pictures.  Unfortunately, I am neither a baker, or a chef!  I was having such a hard time coming up with a project.  I kept going back to a recipe box.  It seemed vintage inspired, and way more my style than doing anything from scratch!  I decided to rummage through my flowers and charms from her store and it all came together.

It seems like all of my recipes are just so handy on my phone, so I thought this would be a fun way to get back to handwriting, and have it look super cute, too!

Thank you so much for visiting today!

Spring Flowers

Hi Friends!

Today I have a craft that I have finally finished.. from The Wood Connection that I purchased last year!  Better late than never.  I just used paper I had in my stash and went to town.  I love how they turned out and I think I could do more of these.

Giant Birthday Card!

Hi!
My daughter is in first grade and just loves her teacher.  I do too, truthfully.  She's a great one and takes such good card of the kids.  My daughter came home from school on Thursday, March 7th and said her teacher's birthday is on the 10th.  I was going to be at school on the 8th for the art program I get to teach and thought it would be fun to go in a gift with the other mom who was helping!  She picked up some balloons and some cupcakes and I made a card for the class to sign.  It was a huge hit!!  Birthdays are so fun, and Mrs. Summerhays really loved her gift.  We were super sneaky and passed the card around while she was finishing up a lesson and had the kids write their names.  I have to admit, that was my favorite part.  All of those cute signatures.  It certainly was a treasure!  The card measures 6"x12" and was just perfect!

Cards, cards, cards!

Hi Friends!

I had my cute friend Kallie come over to try her hand at making cards.  I had kits all ready for us, so we just had to glue.  Super fun time, and I can't wait to card with her again!

We saw a wooden butterfly on one of our favorite Instagrammers Maggie Massey (Midwestern Girl) projects. She just blows me away with her amazing crafts!  I loved this layout, and couldn't wait to try my hand at using veneer in the Cricut!  It was so much fun.  Took a whole passel of multi-cuts, but it was worth it.  This card was my favorite of the night.  Hence the reason the other cards were only photographed in a group!

The other cards were also fun.  They are designs I've done before, but new techniques.  I just love to wrinkle up paper and add distress ink to the wrinkles.  It adds a lot of detail and takes all but 2 seconds!

Thank you Kallie, for coming over and learning about cards.  You're a pro now!  And thank you all for visiting today!!

My First Vinyl Project!

Hey Friends!!

I wanted to show you the cutest vinyl project.  I saw this saying at an overpriced boutique and couldn't bring myself to buy it.  I was telling my cute husband about it and he suggested I cut it in vinyl and stick it on the wall!  Permission!?  I had to jump on that train!

We have a miniature pinscher who loves the sound of her voice and barks at cars driving on the other side of the street.  This only seemed fitting... now only if she could read!

I used the font "All Mixed Up" for my Cricut and a cute puppy from the cartridge "PaperPups".  I have to admit, I love it.  I think she does, too!

Thank you for stopping by!  Vinyl is SO fun!

My new love: Notebooks!

Hi my faithful friends!
I sincerely apologize for my complete lack of posting these last months.  I have been crafting, but have just neglected adding my pictures to my blog!  Instagram has taken over my life!

Anyway.  Apologies aside, I wanted to show you what is probably the quickest gift I have ever made.  My cutest BFF had a birthday in January and I needed just one more thing to put with her gift.

I went to Target (my favorite!) to seek some inspiration.  I found this beautiful notebook and a pen that had some pinky/puple flourishes on it and knew what I wanted to do.

Thanks to KinderStampO's beautiful shabby flowers, I was able to slap this together in no time!  I had paper in my DCWV stash that matched the pen perfectly and ta-da!

Cutest little notebook.  Ever.

Thank you so much for visiting.  I am so sorry to be slackin' on my posts.  I appreciate all of my followers so much!

Welcome to KinderStampO's Theme-spired Saturday!

Hello Friends!

Welcome to another "Theme-spired Saturday" with Jess - KinderStampO!  I am so excited to share with you the project I made using the theme "Sunshine After the Rain".  Jess sent the picture to me and I immediately thought of my cute family and how the sun definitely shines brighter when I'm with them!

Fortunately, she has a stamp set called "Through Sunshine and Rain" that worked perfectly!

My husband just finished making me a decorative alcove in my laundry room that I couldn't wait to make something to put there while I washed!  I decided on a 12x12 format which I mounted on chipboard so it would withstand the demands of a laundry room!

Here's a close up of that super cute sentiment, which I love!

All of the products, minus the paper and clips were from Jess's store.  You can find here.  You won't be disappointed! I'm crazy for her flowers and I just love her stamps, so much!

Here is a picture of my project in my new space.  I added the pictures to clips so I could change the pictures any time I wanted!

Be sure to check out the other Guest Designers to see what they've been up to!  They are so super talented.  Thank you for visiting today!!

3 Hearts for You - A Guest Post for The Wood Connection!

Hi Friends!

I am so honored to be doing a guest post for The Wood Connection!

Do you believe in love at first sight?

Take a trip to the The Wood Connection...  You'll certainly be smitten with all of the adorable crafts they have to do there. Good luck picking just one though!

I decided on the "Heart on Base and Dowel Trio"... it is so sweet!

I chose papers from the  "Love Story" collection from Echo Park Paper Company, along with some from the "LoveBirds" collection from DoodleBug Design.  I also picked up some ribbon, wire, glitter and paint.

To get started, lay out all your supplies: Sandpaper, a sponge brush, plastic plate for your paint colors, and your wood.  Sand all the rough spots around your project, then you're ready to paint!

Next comes the fun part.  Decoupaging your hearts!

Trace your hearts onto the patterned paper and cut them out. Using the  wood glue, add a small amount and use your sponge brush to spread it evenly and lightly.  See this tutorial for more instruction on doing wood to paper!

Now, you're ready to decorate!  I chose some additional papers and used my Cricut to cut some letters and hearts to add to my wood.

I cut the word "LOVE" from the Storybook Cartridge but I couldn't leave it as is.  I decided to glitter it, using some fabulous glitter that I picked up and some paint.

Paint the letters, evenly, and dump glitter onto them. I used my hand to "smoosh" the glitter into the paint. Press evenly.  Tap off the excess, and you're left with a beautiful sparkly word to use!

For the wire element, I used some black wire from the store. After I cut the amount I wanted to use, I used pliers to start my design. I finished the design with my hands, making sure the spacing on the curls was even.

Now, you can add all these elements to your beautiful hearts.  I used double sided tape and glue to adhere all of my elements in the right places.

For the wire, I put it on the large heart along with some fabulous keys I picked up at the store. I added some black jewels and tied a ribbon on the dowel. The flower is a mix of paper ones I had in my stash.

For the next heart, I added my cute glittery "LOVE" and some paper from the backside of the "Love Story" collection and cut it into a banner shape. Glue the banner on first, then the red heart.

For my last heart, I wanted to add the wings and a flower element... I'd say I have a bit of a paper flower addiction!

Now you're finished!

Thank you so much for visiting today...  As an added bonus, The Wood Connection has given me a $25 gift certificate to give to one lucky reader!

To enter to win: Make sure you're a follower of this blog and leave me a comment telling me you are!  Leave a way I can contact you should you be chosen.

This giveaway will remain open until Thursday, January 17th at 10pm MST.  The winner will be announced on Friday, January 18th at 10am MST.

As side note, The Wood Connection is a local Utah company. They do not ship their products. This giveaway would most likely benefit someone who lives here, travels to Utah frequently, or is willing to travel to use it!

Thank you so much to The Wood Connection for inviting me to do this project.

Love definitely is in the air!
